Maybe your issues is, that you're running them a standard users, so you are never able to get the required permission for the Remote tools to use system credentials allowing for remote access to the UAC prompt. Having Vistas User Account Control turned on (on either machine that may be running Vista) may have an impact on LogMeIn products.
